Flowers may bloom again, but a person never has the chance to be young again.
Bandit’s fortune “takeaway”

When my daughter said she wanted a Bluey birthday party, I was excited and overwhelmed because there were so many possibilities. Most importantly, our family loves the show, and at this point we have the episodes memorized and know when to walk out of the room for those poignant moments that make us cry as parents. We find the show extra relatable because of our two daughters, though our Bingo has many Muffin tendencies (if you know, you know). Therefore, this Bluey birthday party went deep.
Takeaway

I had so much fun with the Bluey party favors. Each favor represented an episode or moment in the show. I was able to get the candy burgers in bulk, so I used them extras in the tablescape. I found the glasses at Walmart and sticky geckos on Amazon. The ice cream marshmallow cones came from Party City. I used simple turquoise bags from Target, and my daughter wrote notes to all her friends to place inside.
NOTE: Before I knew what was happening, SOMEONE started playing “sticky gecko” (throw a gecko on the ceiling and and catch it when it falls). The gecko did NOT fall off the ceiling. We eventually had to get it down with a broom.
Takeaway for Adults – Bluey Chow!

Parents were invited and encouraged to stay for our Bluey party, and I did not want them to leave empty-handed. I made Bluey Chow (you can find the recipe here) and put it in small Chinese take-out boxes, as a reference to the “Takeaway” episode. The boxes just made sense (you can find similar ones here) and I will be using them for future events.
Bluey Party Tablescape
Our dining table requires a 60 x 126 in. tablecloth, which makes the standard plastic table coverings difficult to use. I also just prefer a fabric tablecloth that I can wash and reuse. For the table, I used this tablecloth for the base, and added an orange runner for the Bluey colors.

Sweet Treats

Everyone had a blast at the Bluey birthday party. The children kept busy with an inflatable bouncy waterslide (with palm trees of course) and a Bluey photo booth. We had two porch tables set up with Bluey coloring pages if they needed some rest time. Every child received a box of crayons, but most forgot to take them home. Next time I will use communal cups of crayons to avoid waste. To stay on theme, we played “pass the parcel” using Lucky’s Dad’s rules (only one present), and the participants got really bored. Noted.

In conclusion, the Bluey Birthday Party was quite a bit of work, but it came out great. In the wise words of Bandit, “I’ll tell ya that for free!” Happy gathering!
